Project Overview

Pitt Street Sydney Metro is a major underground station and integrated over-station development forming part of Sydney Metro City & Southwest, one of Australia’s most significant transport infrastructure projects.

What Acuity Did

Acuity supported the preparation and defence of complex claims arising on the Pitt St Metro project. This included developing head contract claims relating to flooding, existing defects and COVID-19 restrictions, with a focus on establishing contractual entitlement to extensions of time, variations and disruption costs.

Our role involved assessing the contractual and quantum basis of each claim, preparing supporting commercial analysis, and helping shape the overall claim strategy. We also supported the client’s SOPA defence by reviewing subcontractor extension of time claims, assessing contractual entitlement and evaluating the value of associated delay claims in coordination with a delay analysis expert.

Our support helped demonstrate entitlement, quantify delay and disruption impacts, and improve the quality of evidence underpinning both offensive and defensive claims. This enabled the client to pursue and defend claims with greater confidence, stronger commercial discipline and a more credible basis for negotiation or formal resolution.
