Ryde Pump Station to Wahroonga Reservoir
McConnwell Dowell

Project Overview
Design and construction of a new DN900 water main from Ryde Pump Station to Wahroonga Reservoir, delivered by the McConnell Dowell–Gamuda Engineering Joint Venture (MDGJV) using both open trenching and trenchless construction methods.
What Acuity Did
Acuity provided commercial leadership and capability uplift to MDGJV, supporting the joint venture through NEC4 capability building and ongoing commercial and claims management across the construction phase.
We delivered a tailored NEC4 Commercial Workshop for the MDGJV team, equipping commercial, project and engineering personnel with a shared understanding of NEC4 mechanisms, early warning and compensation event processes, and the collaborative behaviours that underpin successful NEC4 delivery. Beyond the training, we provided ongoing commercial and claims support, including the preparation, assessment and negotiation of compensation events, change management, contemporaneous record keeping, and strategic advice on entitlement and risk.
Acuity's Value Add
Acuity's involvement improved commercial clarity, supported stronger cost certainty, and reduced inefficiencies in the management of change and risk across a technically complex civil construction program. The NEC4 Commercial Workshop built lasting capability within the MDGJV delivery team.
